Hotel Jedermann is a family-owned hotel located in Munich that is perfectly situated in the city center.
I never thought I’d be able to score a sponsorship when I started this blog. But that was definitely one of my aims. And here I am right now writing about my first sponsored accommodation ever!
The room
I checked-in at around 08:00 PM. They gave me a Single Room Superior at the top floor, and it was extremely quiet as I walked towards the lift. Room was small, but good enough for one traveler like me. As I entered the room, first thing I noticed was the wonderful hand-written welcome note they had prepared!
I also noticed this little bug on top of my sheet. I honestly got scared at first thinking it was real! Haha But it’s just a cute chocolate bug that I munched on quickly. The matress, pillow and sheets were clean and very comfortable.
This non-smoking room has a window facing a quiet courtyard. I love that it has a window as I prefer my room to have a natural light in the day. When I tried to turn on the aircon, it didn’t work so I had to call the reception. They told me that it’s because the window’s open. How efficient! That’s definitely some plus points. When I shut the window, it then worked perfectly.
They have a flat TV that I only turned on during Euro 2016 Germany VS Italy match. They had also prepared a healthy snack on the table which I nibbled on as I surfed and Instagram’d at night.
The bathroom was probably my favorite. Extremely tidy and had all the things I needed: mirror with good lighting, large countertop, blower, a glass (to save water when brushing teeth), toiletries, towels, tissue paper, working toilet flush, trash bin… everything! Also notable was the heater of the shower that didn’t take very long to change temperature.
Buffet breakfast
Hotel Jedermann also offers breakfast buffet that starts at 06:30 AM ’til 10:00 AM. I loaded my tummy with some deliciousness before heading out for a tour around the city the next day. What I loved about the breakfast buffet is it wasn’t crowded, and there was a huge selection of mouth-watering foods! You may also request the server for hot drinks if you want to.
Outside the breakfast room is a bar where they serve the famous Bavarian beer, German wine specialities, soft drinks and more for reasonable prices. I also spotted this little room where you can do some reading, and there are a couple of books you can borrow.
Getting around the city center of Munich
At the reception, you can ask for a city map if you need one. They also sell public transport tickets for the same price. I think the best one to get is the single day ticket for €6,40. It is valid from the day you stamped/validated it until 6:00 AM of the next day. Right outside the hotel is the Hermann-Lingg-Straße tram stop where you can ride either tram 18 or 19. Very accessible!
