SB19 performed in an arena full of fans in Singapore, and they proved why they are the top P-Pop group right now.
The P-Pop group SB19 landed at Changi Airport on Thursday, 21 Aug, three days ahead of their Simula At Wakas World Tour in Singapore where the members were greeted by dedicated fans. This is almost 2 years after the cancellation of their previous tour’s stop in Singapore due to unforeseen circumstances. Anticipation and excitement were high now that the group has finally made it here.
Media Conference: Interview with SB19

Before their concert, I was lucky enough to be invited to the media conference which was held at Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore on Friday, 22 Aug. Straight from the Philippine Embassy in Singapore where they met with Ambassador Medardo Macaraig for a courtesy call, the boys arrived and were ready to talk to the media about their upcoming event. With this intimate setting, I had the chance to be up close and personal with SB19. Watch the video below of me asking them a question and hear their answers!
Concert day: SB19 performs at their sold out show
On Sunday, 24 Aug, the Arena @ EXPO was packed with A’TIN (the name of SB19 fandom) who were in full support on the big day. Before the main event, the boys did a quick soundcheck and made their initial greetings to the fans.
A few hours later, the concert started with the entrance of men wearing cloaks for some mysterious effect. The group then came out and performed a medley of their bangers – DAM, What?, Mana and GENTO – that surely fired up the audience.
After the exciting opening number, SB19 went on to serenade the crowd with their ballads. Singapore’s very own Benjamin Kheng joined them in singing the track I WANT YOU. I thought Benjamin held his own and did an amazing job with these guys. They even had a cute banter after their song where Ben showed off the Tagalog words he’s learnt!
Personally, my most favourite SB19 song is MAPA, a very touching song that is basically a tribute to our amazing parents. For this concert, they sang the Indonesian version of it with Aruma, a rising artist from Indonesia. The crowd received it warmly, and the group promised that this won’t be their last performance with her.
These artists from three different countries – Philippines, Singapore and Indonesia – coming together was a beautiful nod to the strong ties among South East Asian nations.
The concert concluded with the song SLMT (Salamat shortened; Thank You in English) which was a fitting way to thank the almost 7,000 fans who showed their support.
SB19 left me in awe and wanting for more

The Simula At Wakas World Tour in Singapore was not short of energy and spectacle with SB19’s gorgeous voices, electrifying dance moves, striking visuals and overall world class performance. I came as a casual fan but left the venue looking forward to see them perform again. Despite all the talents and achievements they have, I can feel that these guys have truly remained humble. And that is probably why SB19 is the top P-Pop group right now.
