The Spot is the newest social hub at Singapore Downtown

By Lord Acuña • 21 May 2018 • 7-min read

Review: The Spot Singapore

The Spot is the newest social hub at Marina One that offers a holistic dining experience.

Newly opened on May 2, The Spot offers an eclectic menu fusing contemporary European cuisine with South East Asian ingredients. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, it’s a great place to celebrate or simply hang out with your family and friends.

As a starter, we indulged ourselves with some beverages to get us in the mood. Knowing that their mixologist Drazen Alingasa is a Filipino, it was not a surprise to see some Pinoy-inspired names on their list of crafted cocktails. Of course we had to order those, along with the classic red wine.

My personal favourite: Halo-Halo – chocolate & coffee liqueur, sweet, creamy and a hint of fruit.

Tagay, a mix of rum, white wine, citrus, and egg white.

A little cabernet before the main attraction.

Appetizers

My top pick for the appetizer is the chard-grilled octopus. Absolutely tasty with the peanut emulsion, and honestly it was my first time eating an octopus so that made the food more interesting.

Mains

The mains took a while to be served to us. For curry lovers, the pan-fried red snapper might be the perfect main for you. But I am biased towards beef shortribs, I just absolutely love it, so that is my top choice for the mains.

Desserts

Seeing some of the photos from their website, the desserts were what I was looking forward the most to try! The presentation is pretty, and finally tasting them was heaven! I kid you not, but we had two rounds of desserts because they were that great. Frozen salted chocolate peanut is the bomb!

Recommended!

The ambiance at The Spot is pleasant and relaxed, thanks to the subtle lighting complimented with the creative design of the bar which is located in the middle. Overall, with the accessible location, great staff, reasonable pricing, and delicious food, The Spot is a must try if you are in the CBD area!
